The exhaust quality is very nice, welds are clean, paintjob-coating is also good for the start - I have sent it to ceramic coating after some time of use. Fitting to bike is no problem at all, no need for special tools or help. The sound of the exhaust is low noise on the smaller REVs but going up to 4000-5000 REVs gives You a racing roar not to mention 7000 and over when it just screams "MORE !!!" hehe. Very happy with the performance especially with open pods.
Installation is tricky. This was not made to fit correctly without some modifications to the support bracket. The lowest hole in the bracket needs to be expanded so that there would be little to no tension on the exhaust pipe and header bolts. The support bracket's lower hole does not line up with the exhaust can's bracket after hand tightening the header nuts. The sound is louder than stock and lacks some bass when compared to the FMF full exhaust I used to run. Overall I don't think it is too loud. I measured at idle from my phone app 88db in a closed garage, might not be as accurate. The look is nice and header pipe has a bend to it which exposes the oil drain bolt. Oil changes will be much simpler. The exhaust can is tucked under the passenger foot pegs .View Detail
Quality:Good quality of materials, welds and brackets, easy to install.Ground clearance poor, less clearance than OEM exhaust, often grounds on right hand corners, potentially hazardous. This is a real pity for a performance exhaust to have less ground clearance than OEM version.Performance:Good performance improvement, PCX150 does 90KPH up test hill with this fitted instead of 80KPH with OEM exhaust.Exhaust baffle is effective, running without the baffle is very loud with no noticable performance improvement, still 90KPH up test hill.Value:Overall value is ok for this product.View Detail
The headers arrived safely. They were well-packaged. The chrome looks good and the welds are acceptable. The product is made in Taiwan. I haven't mounted them yet, so I cannot comment on fit and longevity. Will make a follow-up post later. So far, so good.View Detail
Would have given 5 stars if it wasn\'t for the bad fit, paint and the rear exhaust bracket, but I bought this exhaust on the strength of a internet video I had watched, I have been looking for a certain sound from my xjr400r2 and I have now found it. I have always loved the sound of the old motorbikes in the madmax films and that\'s what I wanted my bike to sound like and this exhaust delivers that to me. The build quality for the price is what it is...cheap, but, it\'s not bad dont get me wrong I have purchased worse. Anyway the pipe to manifold alignment is/was way out on the one I received I had to measure mine with my vernier gauge and pull the individual pipes apart to get close to the right alignment, so don\'t expect your\'s to fit straight out of the box. The paint used looks like a cheap satin black exhaust paint as it was powdery in places and was not cured so it chipped of really easy, no matter I had bought so good vht paint anyway as I expected this problem, the original paint was removed by the use of paint stripper and then repainted with the VHT high temp manifold paint then cured with a blow torch(works just as good) The exhaust back mount will work if you purchase one of those link bits that go from the top of the shock mount and bends back in an arch sort of to link up with the welded on bracket. Well I didn\'t purchase one of those and just cut the original mount off the new exhaust and re welded it inline with the original exhaust mount on the rear hanger. All in all the exhaust is just what I wanted so I am happy the last and most importantly the way the down tubes are bent on this exhaust you can not remove the oil filter with the exhaust in place, it will need to be removed before you can unscrew the oil filter to change it. All the above aside I wanted this exhaust for its sound and on a completely bog standard xjr400r2 I have it now.THE LAST MOST IMPORTANT THING IS NEXT>>>...re jetting your carbs? Now my bike is standard apart from a 4 degree advance on the timing (which helps with the fuel in my country)standard air box and the engine is in great shape. So if you live below 1500 feet above sea level (I am only 20 feet above so all is well) these are the carb settings I have used and so far they are just about right...Pilot jet is a 20Main jet is 95 may move to a 97.5 but 95 will work wellNeedle clip is second from bottomRichen the idle mixture This should get you about there so have fun and you will love the sound it makes.View Detail
Excellent product! Fits great, sounds awesome. Only downside is the paint tends to chips pretty easily and the baffle is really REALLY quiet. View Detail
I use the CR carburetor in my CB750 for some time and it works nice, although the work of the original throttle cables was not so light. I ordered the PEEK link rod after reading a lot of good comments on the Factory Mameshiba site. Mounted it together with the new spring and must say the work is lighter then before, the inner parts of the carburetor as all of metal had great resistance between each other not to mention the wear of each part. Works nice ;)View Detail
Because the SPII ignition sparks my CB750 very well I decided to use it also for my 1988 HONDA CB450S. As this one is using a CDI ignition I decided to use the universal coil set without amplifier. Arrived, mounted into original bracket and sparked right away on cold outside. Revs nicely and I think more smooth and constant than original coil, only thing above 6000 RPM the tachometer jumps up to max... Maybe a resistor will help, must try.View Detail
Last year I have mounted a CR31 for my CB750 RC42, together with some extra parts from Factory Mameshiba, but the throttle feeling with original Honda grip and throttle cables was not satisfying at all, it was stiff, jamming, the original 20 years rubber did not look good. I decided to change for Mameshiba wires and throttle pipe with variable winding. Besides the nice rubber pattern on the grips, the feeling of smoothness raised and variable winding is very useful for the CR31 on daily use. View Detail
Last year the Earl's oil cooler with 13 rows has been fitted into my CB750 RC42 for better cooling. After that I used a PMC protector and last year a Yoshimura original protector was mounted instead. Fitting is very easy and fits the cooler very good (even the curved part). It gives to the cooler a great protection from bugs and flies and the Yoshimura logo looks beautiful over the honeycomb structure. Very nice product with good value as for original Yoshimura should be ;)View Detail
After 20 years from new I finally had to change the clutch in my Honda CB750 RC42. Especially now that I run a Keihin CR31 carb and CBX750 RC17 camshafts it will need a good clutch with this increased power. This FCC clutch kit fits perfect, looks great and I hope it will ride also very good and will meet my expectations. Feeling by hand the clutch lever is smooth, the springs seem to be quite handy and not too hard.View Detail
