The cause was the grooves that wear into the aluminium between the fingers where the clutch disks lay.Products to buy together - A key product to buy together with the clutch outer for me was new clutch disks, there are many options available but I thought the reinforced 6 clutch disk kit Kitaco sell was ideal for my engine setup and it has also replaced other worn aluminium parts in the clutch mechanism.Difficulty of installation - The installation of the clutch outer is a advanced task that took 1.5 hours to complete. Mechanical aptitude, the use of special tools and the knowledge of disassembling the engine is required to secure the clutch outer to the transmission main shaft.Cost performance and comparison with other products - I find the cost of all the products Honda sell to be very reasonable when compared to what some of the other companies sell their products for but this is not the case with the clutch outer as the pricing seems excessive.About shipping and packaging - With there being a significant cost difference between sea freight and EMS for the clutch outer, I chose sea freight to save some money as the part was not required immediately. About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of clutch outer housing from Honda, with the outer housing cast from aluminium it also includes a steel drive gear attached to the aft side.About the feeling of use: A part that will service many tens of thousands of kilometers when assembled correctly with it's mating part, the clutch pack assembly.Products to buy together: Since you will have the clutch apart for the replacement of the clutch outer housing then a new set of clutch disks and clutch plates would also be desirable to purchase along side the clutch outer housing if excess wear is found.Difficulty of installation: The process to install takes about 1 hours, remove the right crankcase cover to be able to access the clutch assemble and remove it as a whole. Once this is removed the clutch outer housing can be swapped by sliding it off the splined shaft and then reverse the process to complete the install.
