About the feeling of use, One of the best upgrades available for the CT125. The larger and brighter display was the main reason for purchasing but this multimeter offers so much more. Products to buy together, The center meter bracket from OPMID would be ideal to also add to your cart to position the multimeter where it looks best. Difficulty of installation, I can say the fitment of the multimeter for my installation was average due to the disassembly required to access all the connections but the YouTube OPMID channel made the process as easy as possible. Cost performance and comparison with other products, The pricing of this product is great. You receive well made and great features multimeter that is cheaper then what is available from SP Takegawa and the all black really suits the CT125. The speed sensor for the meter in the crank case is used for both the rear wheel of the ABS system and the front wheel due to the change of the sprocket: If the difference in rear wheel rotation is outside the allowable range, an error will occur (warning lamp will flash) and ABS will not function.
The speed correction function of the multi-meter is an internal correction of the meter, and therefore, it cannot be used as a countermeasure against the error generated by the ABS device (modulator).
If the sprocket is replaced on a vehicle with ABS, a device that corrects the signal at the vehicle speed sensor (such as OPMID Doctor Speed) is required.
*Displays the measured value of the stock temperature sensor.The displayed value is the same as the value output to the OBD2 tool.
The stock temperature sensor is installed in the passage where the oil that became hot in the cylinder head returns to the crankcase.
Because it is measured at the hottest point, it is always higher than the average temperature of the whole oil or the temperature of the drain bolt at the bottom.
When the vehicle is stopped (idling), the amount of oil circulation will be reduced, and when the vehicle is running at high rpm and low speed, the stock temperature sensor near the combustion area will start to rise quickly.
In addition, the average engine temperature of the CT125 is 15 degrees higher than that of the Monkey 125 due to the fact that the total amount of oil in the CT125 is approx. 20% less and the frictional heat of the centrifugal clutch.

Monkey 125: 110-115 degrees when driving, 120-125 degrees when stopped
CT125: 125-130 degrees when driving, 135-140 degrees when stopped
Stopped is the value when the vehicle is waiting at a traffic light for a few minutes, and it increases the longer the vehicle is stopped.
As an alternative to using the stock temperature sensor, a readout circuit for a retrofit temperature sensor is also provided.
A common drain bolt type temperature sensor for the Monkey 125 and CT125 will be released in the spring of 2021.
*How the retrofit calculated gear position function works
The basic mechanism is that the meter calculates the reduction ratio based on the ratio of the speed signal and the engine speed signal, and selects the number of gears based on the ratio.
One of the disadvantages of the system is that when the clutch is disengaged or in a semi-clutch position, the relationship between the speed signal and the engine speed signal is not fixed, so the exact gear cannot be determined.
The stock gear position equipped from the beginning on large vehicles has a switch sensor with contact points for each gear on the shift drum, and is not as linear as that.
In the case of the CT125, there are two clutches, the primary centrifugal clutch (mainly for starting) and the secondary multi-disc clutch (for shifting), and therefore, compared with the Monkey 125, the "time when the relationship between the speed signal and the engine speed signal is not fixed" (i.e.the semi-clutching state) tends to increase during running.In particular, it is not possible to calculate the speed at low rpm when the primary centrifugal clutch is disengaged or about to be disengaged.
Since the deceleration ratio is calculated every 0.1 second, it is not real time, but it will show the true reaction speed when you shift up or down in the engine speed range where the primary clutch does not slip.In terms of rpm, it is recommended to keep the rpm above 3000rpm, but not below 2500rpm.
In the case of the Monkey 125, since only a manual clutch is used, the exact gear can be displayed as soon as the clutch lever is released, but if, for example, the bike is running in 2nd gear at full throttle and the clutch is released and the bike coasts (the speed drops slowly, but the engine speed drops at once), the gear ratio in the calculation will change from 3rd gear to 4th gear, even though the bike is actually still in 2nd gear.The gear ratio in the calculation will have changed from the equivalent of 3rd gear to the equivalent of 4th gear, even though the gear ratio actually remains in 2nd gear.
This product is equipped with a function to read the on / off signal of the clutch switch and to fix the display gear while the clutch is being held, as an auxiliary function to reduce the false display as much as possible, and to ease the sense of discomfort.

Works great on JB03 Honda Monkey 5 speed, but... no engine temperature
Installation was pretty straight forward, just followed the Youtube video by Opmid for the 4 speed Monkey.The JB03 Monkdey 125 has a different temperature sensor so the connectors for this on the Opmid harness was not used. The most annoying part of the harness install was connecting the clutch switch signal wire to the starter relay. To make it easy I removed the battery and battery box/tray to get access to the starter relay.I used the following figures to configure the gear ratio on the Opmid multimeter:5.2 - 1st gear: 2.8465.3 - 2nd gear: 1.777 5.4 - 3rd gear: 1.315 5.5 - 4th gear: 1.034 5.6 - 5th gear: 0.8435.7 - 6th gear: noneThis worked a charm, every gear up and down while riding, the gear indicator showed the correct gear. Sometimes it gets confused when your revs are low and you change gears.The display is great, bright, easy to read in any light condition. I also purchased the matte non-reflective protective film and it helped with reducing glare. I am very happy with this Opmid multimeter, it's head and shoulders better than the stock one. Now to the "but"... no engine temperature. I'm still working out which option to take.

All in One Instrument Gauge for the Monkey
About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of the multimeter from Opmid. The housing is made from all plastic with a gloss finished screen. The display is all digital just like the OEM Honda meter. About the feeling of use: This instrument gauge has every thing you could possibly want to display on your Monkey and I much prefer the look of the digital tachometer added to the displayed. Products to buy together: A SP Takegawa oil temperature guage and drain bolt would also be desirable to purchase alongside the multimeter so you can display the engine oil temperature from not just the OEM Honda sensor on the cylinder but also from the crankcase area. Difficulty of installation: The process to install takes about 2 hours to install and setup. Remove the headlight and OEM Honda meter then position the temperature wire and tachometer wire. Install the meter bracket followed by the meter and connect up all the wiring to the meter. Now follow the instructions on how to setup the meter. A little difficult to do. Cost performance and comparison with other products: Good costing as you are getting an all in one instrument gauge that is able to display everything you could want on the Monkey but the price is high as compared to the previous tachometer I was using from SP Takegawa that did a fantastic job but is missing a few features. About shipping and packaging: Sea frieght is my preferred method of shipping due to the lower cost and it is fantastic that it has returned as an option once again so I can put my money toward parts and not high shipping costs. Webike kept me updated on the status of my order up to when it shipped. The parcel arrived within the expected date range and was well packaged with no chance of the part being damaged. Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing: Like I have already said this is an all in one instrument gauge but if you have unlimited funds then you will want to purchase the super multi TFT meter from SP Takegawa that has a coloured digital display.

* About quality and texture, Weather resistant all black plastic housing and large gloss finished screen make for a premium product from Opmid.* About the feeling of use, This guage is extemely user friendly with it's easily accessable buttons, even while riding and it's numerous options to view the motorcycle data and customize the guage to your motorcycle specifications.* Products to buy together, Opmid make some beautiful products specifically for the Monkey 125. Their front brake hose guide and O2 sensor guard kit is recommended.* Difficulty of installation, Installation of the guage is a big job with a lot of removing of parts, positioning of the wiring harness and not to mention setting up the guage to have all the features working correctly. The process was completed in 120 minutes with some difficultly.* Cost performance and comparison with other products, Best priced product for a complete guage swap but they are on backorder, so you may want to consider the super multi TFT meter from SP Takegawa but at a much higher price.* About shipping and packaging, Once dispatched I am happy to wait 6 weeks on average for my parts to arrive in Sydney Australia via Webike's sea freight which comes with tracking and insurance so I know I'm covered in case something was to go wrong but with there outstanding bubble wrapping and boxing there have been no problems.* Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing, If you still have to have this even with the backorder status you should contact Webike for a delivery date estimate before placing your order.
